45 MinsLights Up Kids Fest for the Inner West is a 12-day celebration of Children’s Theatre and Performing Arts. Lights Up is designed to illuminate the performing arts in primary schools in the Inner West, by inviting kids to join us at Flight Path Theatre as an audience member, a participant and a performer.
THE SHOW TO WATCH:
Especially on Birthdays: A physical theatre spectacular presented by Flightpath Theatre & Shinyheart Productions
Never before seen in NSW, Especially on Birthdays is a unique blend of performance, games, and celebration, offering audiences a glimpse into the world of two twins as they navigate the excitement and trepidation of a sixth birthday, created by The PaperBoats with a score by Disney’s Mulan music director, Matthew Wilder. Executive Director of Theatre for Young Audiences/USA, Johnathan S Chapman, aptly describes it as, "captivating beauty and energy." It promises to be a memorable experience for children and adults alike.
THE WORKSHOP TO PARTCICPATE IN
Fun Interactive Drama Workshops hosted by Inner West Drama
Inner West Drama will offer an accompanying drama workshop straight after each performance, in order for the children to playfully explore some of the themes and techniques they see on stage. Utilizing play to build confidence, self-esteem, and performance skills for ages 4-12, these workshops offer children the opportunity to explore their creativity and express themselves through drama.
“I like how drama teaches me to be brave and not feel so shy all the time.” Montana, 8 y/o.

WOVEN: An intergenerational storytelling project
Funded by the Inner West Council and developed by Inner West Drama, Woven is a wonderful intergenerational storytelling project, connecting community members across all generations through laughter, stories and play. This is a free event offered on August 17th and 18th.
